I made plates. Shaped like the tectonic plates.
More precisely, I designed a set of dinner plates shaped like the tectonic plates of the earth’s crust, because I’m absurdly fond of visual puns. They’re carefully sized so they slot together to make a complete world map.
I like the plates as-is, but the shapes aren’t very recognizable (unless you’re a geologist or already know what you’re looking at.) As a next step, I’m going to add the continents as shallow relief features. The final plates will end up looking something like this.
